Cocktail Recipes - The Ward 8 & Jack Rose
The Ward 8 cocktail was invented in Boston in 1898 and is known to be one of our capital city’s most notable contributions to the craft cocktail movement. The new Bootblack Brand Pomegranate Grenadine Syrup* works beautifully in this recipe which is basically a variation of a Whiskey Sour.
Ingredients:
.75 oz Bootblack Pomegranate Grenadine Syrup
2 oz Rye
.75 oz lemon juice
Cherries to garnish, if desired
Instructions:
To a cocktail shaker filled with
ice, add syrup, rye, and lemon
juice. Shake until cold, 20 sec.
Strain into a coupe glass and
garnish with cherries, if desired.
Enjoy!
Substitute Applejack for the Rye and you've got a Jack Rose!
*Bootblack Brand Pomegranate Grenadine Syrup is currently available in North Attleboro only, though other brands such as Rose's are available in Seekonk.
